A physician accused of not telling authorities about a man who sells a flesh-eating paste to cancer patients has surrendered her medical license.

Dr. Lois March, an ear, nose and throat specialist, surrendered her license last week. She must stop practicing by Dec. 1, an official with Georgia's board of medical examiners said Monday.

The medical board previously filed a complaint against her, saying she aided the paste seller by treating patients who used it. Dan Raber, the pastor-turned-healer who sells it, claims it cures cancers. Made with bloodroot, an extract from flower root, the substance is billed on his Web site as "TumorX Paste."

The board said March provided pain medication to patients who used it, seven of whom had breast cancer. She should have known that bloodroot "mutilated their breasts and caused excruciating pain," the board said.

   Since first posting about this bozo, I have had hundreds of hits. I assume they are those so afflicted seeking any answer to their disease. I had a close friend who had two kinds of cancer. As educated and knowledgeable as he was, he was quite eager to believe in quackery. Radiatation, chemotherapy AND quackery couldn't save him.

Raber's farm was raided by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration earlier this year. Neither March nor Raber has been charged.

March's attorney, Hunter Allen, said she doesn't endorse the use of bloodroot and urged some patients to seek conventional cancer treatment instead. But some who insisted on using it were in pain, and she agreed to prescribe medication for them, he said.

"In retrospect, this not good judgment on her part, but Dr. March never knowingly engaged in any wrongdoing," Allen said.

March is eligible to apply for license reinstatement after two years provided she has no further contact with Raber, his family or practices involving use of bloodroot, officials said.

Raber did not return a call seeking comment Monday, but a woman who answered his phone confirmed TumorX is still for sale.   AP

I want to know more about the TumorX. That article about Dr. Quack to you, didn't say if it helped the patients or not. It just spoke of the other doc losing her license for prescribing pain meds. I want to know what happened to the patients using the Bloodroot.

The "quack..." blog sounds to me like a power thing between government and people's choice. Furthermore, your "Quack to you,..." says absolutely NOTHING to back up why this gal lost her license. It says NOTHING about what became of the patients using the tumorx stuff. What is the REST of the story, please.

I do not believe, by the way, that the lady doc should have lost her license just because she did not act as an "Informer" in a free country.

I have used TumorX and found it to be an inexpensive and effective way to permanently and safely deal with skin cancers. I have no experience with it on other cancers. What right do medical "authorities" have to talk about breast mutilation after years of removing entire breasts to get rid of cancer? Isn't that mutilation? And the only flesh that bloodroot eats is the cancer infected flesh. Don't we want that gone? On skin lesions that are not cancerous, it does very little. The real snake oil hucksters are the FDA controlled drug-pushing physicians. Furthermore, to say that radiation and chemo couldn't save someone is laughable. Chemo and radiation regularly hasten the deaths of poor suffering cancer patients. And if all this doctor did was relieve the pain of a patient, why did she lose her license? Isn't that humane? Aren't physicians supposed to have compassion anymore? Probably not, since it would be inconvenient to the administering of toxic and painful "cures" that kill. I believe the answer is that the good doctor was threatening the billion dollar income of the cancer industry. The last thing they want is an inexpensive cure, and they have gone to any lengths to prevent cures that are discovered from being used and publicized. These are the facts being hidden from the American public.

My son who has a very agressive stage 4 lyphoma is now using the tumer x products. He has several large wounds caused by the cacer. These wounds contiued to grow larger as the cancer spred. This is America we should be able to chose what protical we want to use to heal our bodies. From the resaerch I have done these so called quaks like Dan Raber have a beter sucsess rate then the AMA.

I completely agree with Ann's post 100%. Bloodroot really is a natural cure on this earth. It isn't man-made chemical crud, and the FDA just wants to have a power trip over what's said and done, as well as not ruin their billions. I work outside doing landscaping and know that all of the worlds healing power lies right out there in front of your face, in God's natural world. Roots in mother nature possess awesome power, and the Indians knew all this since they lived off of the land completely. I'm going to pick my own bloodroot and also red clover, and who knows, some other herbs, and make my own tea. I am merely going to do this as a cancer prevention. In addition, I'd like to add that the reason for the severe burning of skin in those patients is that the salve itself is too strong - It needs to be mixed with other herbs in order to de-strengthen or weaken it. So, all of you white collar workers: Sit in you cancer causing pollution tunnel of toxic gases, and listen to all of the synthetic scientists.

Five years ago I went to a holistic doctor, to have him look at s sore on my earlobe that had been there for a couple years. It was not healing and bled frequently.

He applied a black salve called Cansema ( now Tumorx )directly on the sore. It felt like he touched my skin with a lit cigarette. He applied a bandage and I left his office. Over the next few days, I could feel something "working" beneath the skin. A week later, I went back to his office, he removed the bandage and with it, a mass of tissue about the size of a pencil eraser. I've been using bloodroot in various formulations for seven years. It does not affect healthy skin, but it certainly does attack cancerous and pre-cancerous lesions. Absolute madness. Bloodroot does NOT attack just cancerous cells; it kills all living tissue and leaves grotesque keloid scars. Bloodroot is an eschar-forming compound. This is basic science; go look it up.

Furthermore, there is NOTHING bloodroot claims to do that simple outpatient surgical excision cannot do better, safer, and more effectively. READ THE STUDIES!
