Al-Jazeera Workers Angry at Bush
DOHA, Qatar, (UPI) -- About 100 employees of the Arabic news network al-Jazeera have signed a petition calling on an end to alleged attacks and threats against it.
The Mirror, a British newspaper, recently published a report on a leaked memo that allegedly shows President Bush, in talks with Prime Minister Tony Blair, had suggested bombing al-Jazeera's headquarters in Qatar.
British editors have been advised that publishing the memo could lead to prosecution under the Official Secrets Act, and some analysts believe that the president was joking.
The BBC reports that employees at the Qatar headquarters and several foreign bureaus held a 15-minute work stoppage as a symbolic protest.
Al-Jazeera offices in Afghanistan and Baghdad have been hit by U.S. fire with one reporter killed. The U.S. military says that the strikes were mistakes.
Please allow me to introduce myself. I'm a man of stealth and pain. You call me the Great Satan, but that's not the half of it.
I've been sleeping awhile now. But it seems the mosquito net has failed. My rest is being disturbed by insects. I am going to wake up very grouchy.
First thing I'll do is kill all the bugs.
That would be YOU.
Next thing I'll do is make my 'environment' unsuitable for bugs.
That would be YOU.
Last thing I'll do is insure 'insects' don't bother my rest. I'll patch that hole in the mosquito net and find a way to genetically alter those pesky bugs so they don't breed.
YOU might want to consider that with your tiny little brain.
..."Oh, I know, let's write a petition and have every one sign it..."
Cheers,

During WWII weren't Tokyo Rose, Axis Sally, and Lord HaHa recognized as legitimate targets? What's the difference with the terrorist mouthpiece al-Jazzera?

Damned good point Len.
AND how about all the jamming of Radio MARTI and VoA?

The difference is, we are not at war with Qatar.

Quite so, and until people stop thinking of our enemy
as an entity that has a nationality or borders or sovereignty, we are doomed to lose this war.
We are at war with a RELIGION and I don't care where it poses a problem.
Qatar or Chicago - if the enemy is there, we engage them.

We cannot invade sovereign borders to go after the enemy. The enemy has no borders, but the countries they hide in do, and we can't do a thing about it.
