A few years ago, I happened to catch an appearance of a fellow blogger, a guy I'd long admired and followed, on an obscure (then) slice of late, late night cable television called 'Red Eye' - just shortly after that show's inception. I emailed him with some unsolicited advice - I told him to stop letting interviewers or panelists step on his words or cut him off. I told him he needed to quit trying to be so careful and start getting pissed off - that his words and thoughts needed to get out.
He wrote back and asked me to be more specific and I was happy to oblige.
Since then, I've watched with glee as he became a righteously angry face of the Conservative movement.
Just last week, I sent him some more unsolicited advice regarding camera angles and their position, the psychology of color and his posture.
I actually yelled at him to 'sit up straight'.
