I watched it, or better said, I endured it. What I saw was delusion parenthetically embraced by lies. My feeling of it is one best expressed by an EKG monitor - flatline. He was in need of immediate cardiac defibrillation, his audience required emergency resuscitation and anyone out there who found the least bit of reality or substance in the whole charade should receive electroshock therapy STAT. Michelle Obama looked like she'd bought her outfit off the seconds rack at a Halloween wholesale costume liquidator - the only thing missing was a tastefully rendered plastic pumpkin pendant. The Republican 'reply' was infinitely worse. Whoever came up with that concept should be shot. My thoughts on it? Otto von Bismarck once referred to politics and sausage - the results of Barack Obama's first SOTU will be more like long gone bad shredded chicken when the American people have fully digested it.

1. A group of friars were behind on their belfry payments, so they opened up a small florist shop to raise funds. Since everyone liked to buy flowers from the men of God, a rival florist across town thought the competition was unfair. He asked the good fathers to close down, but they would not.. He went back and begged the friars to close. They ignored him.. So, the rival florist hired Hugh MacTaggart, the roughest and most vicious thug in town to "persuade" them to close. Hugh beat up the friars and trashed their store, saying he'd be back if they didn't close up shop. Terrified, they did so, thereby proving that only Hugh can prevent florist friars.
2. Mahatma Gandhi, as you know, walked barefoot most of the time, which produced an impressive set of calluses on his feet. He also ate very little, which made him rather frail and, with his odd diet, he suffered from bad breath. This made him (Oh, man, this is so bad, it's good) a super calloused fragile mystic hexed by halitosis.
3. Two Eskimos sitting in a kayak were chilly, so they lit a fire in the craft. Unsurprisingly it sank, proving once again that you can't have your kayak and heat it too.
4. Two hydrogen atoms meet. One says, "I've lost my electron." The other says, "Are you sure?" The first replies "Yes, I'm positive."
5. Did you hear about the Buddhist who refused Novocain during a root canal? His goal: transcend dental medication..

After about an hour, the manager came out of the office and asked them to disperse. "But why?", they asked, as they moved off. "Because," he said, "I can't stand chess-nuts boasting in an open foyer."
7. A woman has twins and gives them up for adoption. One of them goes to a family in Egypt and is named "Ahmal." The other goes to a family in Spain ; they name him "Juan." Sharing a bed with someone could temporarily reduce your brain power - at least if you are a man - Austrian scientists suggest. When men spend the night with a bed mate their sleep is disturbed, whether they make love or not, and this impairs their mental ability the next day. The lack of sleep also increases a man's stress hormone levels.

A big reason why the government is inefficient and ineffective is because Washington has outdated technology, with federal workers having better computers at home than in the office. This startling admission came Thursday from Peter Orszag, who manages the federal bureaucracy for President Barack Obama. The public is getting a bad return on its tax dollars because government workers are operating with outdated technologies, Orszag said in a statement that kicked off a summit between Obama and dozens of corporate CEOs. “Twenty years ago, people who came to work in the federal government had better technology at work than at home,” said Orszag, director of the Office of Management and Budget. “Now that’s no longer the case. “The American people deserve better service from their government, and better return for their tax dollars.” The White House release that included Orszag’s comments said one “specific source” of ineffective and inefficient government is the huge technology gap between the public and private sectors that results in billions of dollars in waste, slow and inadequate customer service and a lack of transparency about how dollars are spent.
I go to the VA all the time and they have the newest and best hardware available. However, they have NEVER been able to transfer my medical records from Fresno to Reno despite having almost 7 years to do so. I have had to retake every test, re-shoot every x-ray and submit to every procedure a second time because of that. And it doesn't end there - many of the tests, x-rays and procedures I have had done here have had to be repeated because they cannot keep my records together. When was the last time you ever heard of a governmental agency NOT having the best and newest? Well, except NASA, that is. No, it is not the equipment - it is the people who are running the equipment.
