They find strength in our weakness.
The two sides of military spending
There's a tactic called 'baiting the trap'. The Democrats are busily bringing this nation to its knees in every way possible and in some ways once thought impossible. Did you hear Barack Obama fired the head of what was last year the largest automobile manufacturer in the world? Last guy to assert that sort of authority was Harry Truman, who briefly ran the steel industry in 1952. Before him, it was FDR in 1933, who essentially took over most of the industries in this country, if not in actuality, certainly in practical fact. In both cases, our enemies saw an opening and leapt at the opportunity of our perceived weakness - the result of which was war - first World War II and then the Cold War. History offers no reason to assume this won't be the case again. While we pare our own military spending down and whittle away at our ability to defend ourselves, our enemies are preparing for that moment when our weakness is most apparent. That time cannot be too far from now, given the actions of Congress. Consider what would happen to us in the event of extreme civil unrest or even open rebellion. Or worse - a Taliban leader promised just today an 'event of glorious destruction' within our borders and there are numerous reports of Hamas and Hizzbolah terrorists coming across from Mexico. Given the tenuous nature of our economy - no thanks to the Democrats - wouldn't the occurance of such events - singularly or in unison - signal a our time of greatest weakness? I'd like to think we are baiting a trap with the collective stupidity of 'we the people' and the ideological blindness of our leaders, but I fear we are, in reality, putting our way of life on the line with little hope of trapping anything besides ourselves and our children.
Your grandkids will one day put down their toys and ask why you didn't act before it was too late.
