Gangland USA
Criminal street gangs - mostly comprised of illegal immigrants - are responsible for the majority of violent crimes in the United States and are the primary distributors of most illicit drugs. The alarming, but not surprising, information is revealed in a new report published by the Justice Department’s National Gang Intelligence Center, an FBI task force created in 2005 to curb the growing threat of violent gangs in the U.S. The NGIC teams up with state and local law enforcement agencies throughout the nation to enforce, study and intercept gangs and has published several reports documenting their activities.
The agency’s latest publication has not been made public but a national newspaper revealed some of its findings this week. It says that up to 80% of crime in the U.S. is committed by gangs and that gang membership in this country has grown to 1 million, an increase of 200,000 in the last few years. Additionally, gangs are the "primary retail-level distributors of most illicit drugs" in the U.S. and several are sophisticated enough to compete with major Mexican drug-trafficking cartels. Most of the country’s state and local enforcement agencies have reported gang activity in their jurisdiction and the problem will only get worse, according to the FBI. Link
I found this article Friday night - late Friday night. As with many stories, I searched for an image that would suit it. I ran into a mental roadblock. When that happens, I sleep on it. This site is not a 'news source' nor does it pretend to be - I tried that for a few years and that was a waste. Believe me when I say that just because I put a story to bed, doesn't mean I'm not focused on it - I use that time to let the impact of something I find sink in. Stories that defy imagery are usually stories that are so difficult to understand that my brain is unable to process the information sufficient to find my muse asre the issue itself and its implications. I'm not just pissing in the wind here. I want to present news with an appropriate image such that both leave a lasting impression. You'll remember a story or article much better if I can craft an image that burns it into your memory.
I want you to go back and reread this story. The salient point is that '80% of crime is committed by gangs'. The enhancement for that fact is that we are speaking of 'illegal immigrant' gangs. The subtext is that we are referring specifically to violent crimes. That the United States Justice Department authored it and chose to release it late Friday is noteworthy. The source is impeccable but the timing is suspect - throwing something on the wires on Friday evening guarantees it will suffocate over the weekend. There's a term, OTBE - over taken by events. That refers to some incident overrun by newer, and more urgent, facts or coverage. Blago makes the late night talk show circuit. Alaska volcano is going to erupt. Hell is freezing over. It's best to release bad news just short of the weekend in the hopes that it'll be so subsumed.
Such is the case with this little nugget. Have YOU heard anything about it? I'd repeat the facts, but if it hasn't sunk in by now - nothing I can do or say is going to cure your stupidity. This news item - terse and innocuous as it is - is nothing short of the telegram FDR got on 12/7/1941. Pearl Harbor Day for the hard of memory. This is an invasion, my friends. It is armed, vicious and without regard to consequence. Why would there BE any concern on the behalf of our invaders? We have practically paved their way with golden streets. That during a 'conservative administration'. Now we have a much more 'open border' friendly legislative atmosphere with a willing pen in Barack Obama. Democrats want nothing more that to solidify the Latino base - it gained them the power they have now.
You'd better consider this issue very carefully. On so many fronts does illegal immigration affect our daily lives - education, health care, homeland security, drug abuse and the diminution of traditional demographics - those responsible for this nation's creation, its survival and its very existence today. On the one hand, I am all for immigration, I think having more immigrants is key to our continued dominance in all things and anyone who wants to come here and be productive - while living within our laws - is a citizen of great potential. Bring 'em on! But we can't have this. We can't have a million illegal punks doing this to US. Nevermind the cost of law enforcement, court, incarceration and all. These 'people' ... these animals are causing too much harm.
What to do about it? Yeah, that's the question, isn't it? Build a fence. Might help. Get 'tough on employers' might help, too. A million more border agents and deploying the National Guard on the border might help. Do YOU think those things will actually DO anything to address the situation as reported? Of course not and here's what needs to be done. First of all, we need to realize that this NOT the refuge for all comers. If you are not supposed to be here - then you go home or straight to jail. Second, Democrats need to understand that merely breathing (sic) is neither qualification for, nor entitlement to vote, participate in our process or have a godamned opinion either way.
And last but not least is that Republicans had better get a handle on all this or risk armed insurrection.
600,000 Americans died fighting the Civil War. Imagine the death toll today.

I give Drug Prohibition less than 10 years of life left.
