Yep, I wish the rest of life was as easy as BBQ.

What exactly are those things on the grill in the last image? They look like lava rocks or something....

Heh, smartass.
Chicken thighs with my own rub - they've been smoking for over three hours when the photo was taken.
See the look on that kid's face?
Does he look like he's eatin' rocks, amigo?
I'll say this, though, the sauce was almost as hot as lava in the after bite.
But even the burps taste good :)
You make it up here and and I'll cook some rocks for ya.

Hey! Very cool and darling! You look so cute!! I can vouch for the 'rub'. Hot stuff as I still have some left. Hard to describe except to say they're a 10 on the YUM scale.
What a precious little boy. :)

Well. Somehow, using my other computer I just managed to see a few images further than the lava rocks. If that's you holding up one of those rocks in the tongs, you bear a strong resemblance to a security guard that used to patrol the grounds of the apartment complex where I used to live. He was a former sheriff's deputy of Santa Clara County, a native Texan, and was also a cargo plane pilot in Vietnam (USAF). A really nice guy.
