Birth of a monster?

At a rally in Grand Rapids, Mich., on Wednesday evening, John Edwards endorsed Barack Obama, who was on the stage with him, to be the Democratic nominee for president.

Sounding a theme of a nation divided into parts by walls, Mr. Edwards said, “The reason I am here tonight is that Democratic voters in America have made their choice and so have I.”

Mr. Edwards then went on to say, “There is one man who knows in his heart that it is time to tear down that wall and make one America, Barack Obama.”

Mr. Obama, who had introduced Mr. Edwards as “one of the great leaders we have in the Democratic Party, ” responded by saying he was grateful to him for coming to Michigan and giving his endorsement.

Mr. Obama also noted how Mr. Edwards and his wife, Elizabeth, had emphasized health care as an issue that is of primary concern, then said it would be a major issue in his administration.

The endorsement comes at a time when the appeal of Mr. Obama appears to be lagging among white, blue-collar voters, a group to which Mr. Edwards openly appealed. Link

If there is a more slimy, slippery and smarmy snake than Barack Obama - it is John Edwards. And he too, is also a lawyer, which qualifies him as the absolute lowest lifeform known to man. His name has been bantered about for the future United States attorney general (ACK), a seat on the Supreme Court (JAYSUS!) and Obama's Vice Presdent. I think he could do the least harm as veep, personally, but the prospect of seeing all that ivory gleaming from the mouthes of both day in and day out on television from now until the election, not to mention the next four years, is just too much for me to bear. The Democrats could come to their senses and go with Hillary but that seems more and more unlikely as each day passes. Attention whores like Edwards don't show their true colors until forced to do so and I believe he was forced by the Obama campaign. They said 'do it now' and you can be veep - wait another day and get nothing. Obama needed something to let the air out of Clinton's huge victory in West Virginia - which validated Hillary Clinton's contention and proved beyond any doubt that there is a racial component in Obama's run and it could be fatal for the Democrats in November. Edwards is the only big 'get' left after Governor Bill Richardson of New Mexico - who happens to be hispanic. So now, the Dems have their 'rainbow coalition' as their slate. The problem is that every single one of those people on that slate have all previously stated they would, raise taxes, increase spending, restrict oil exploration, retreat from Iraq and create a monster in the form of national healthcare. The extreme left and the core of the Democratic party might think that's all wine and roses, but Joe Sixpack, out in Flyoverland, lacking in college education as he is, is still smart enough to know he isn't going to be driving a wind-powered solar pickup truck anytime soon, he pays way too much in taxes already, is tired of seeing his hard earned money wasted on bad bloated useless dysfunctional government programs and pork, that leaving Iraq prematurely will create a mess infinitely worse than it is today requiring us to return and costing much more Amercan blood and that having Uncle Sam in charge of healthcare is like having the DMV in charge of intensive care.

This is turning out to be an entertaining race all the way around - It's like watching a bad 'B' movie.
.
Remember, the good guys defeat all the monsters and always prevail in those.

Early in the 2004 race, I "supported" Edwards--and somewhere along the line he "lost it" for me.

We should push for a ballot change that allows us to vote for NONE OF THE ABOVE......

McCain? Who's is his VEEP? ....very important, as he could get my vote.

LOL - that two-headed monster poster was a nasty way to wake me up this AM.

I'm enjoying the consternation in the chattering classes at the way this whole election cycle has turned out. For all the order in the universe, chaos still has it's place...

That's a good question, OCM.

Rice? Jindal? Cheney? Gingrich?

It's not the terrorists or the communitsts that'll bring down this country--- it's the lawyers....

I'm partial to Joe Arpaio.

He'd deal with illegal immigration and have the opposite of the 'Qualye Effect'.

Joe's so fucking rabid even the Dems would do everything they could to insure John McCain serves out his full term in good health.

In all seriousness, I think Jane Harman of California would be a winner.

She is super sharp on foreign affairs and has been a 'maverick' among the Democratic ranks for years.

She is well respected by the opposition.

She comes from a 'swing' state and the biggest electoral prize of all.

She would garner the gender vote.

She knows as much about weapons systems as any elected official alive.

She is a Democrat and choosing her would demonstrate bipartisan intent on the behalf of McCain.

She wouldn't make McCain's meager speaking skills look less than they are by comparison.

It would be one less Democrat in Congress.

Whadya think of them apples?

Uncle Fester ...

I have so much fun making things like that. It's my therapy.

Gerry ...

The bestards are well on the way of accomplishing that.

Do you realize that in this election cycle our choices are:

A. A lawyer married to a lawyer
B. A lawyer married to a lawyer
C. A veteran married to a beer heiress.

That seems like a pretty simple choice to me.

Steel Dearest,

Seems no harm can come to O'bama. Wright, small town resentment, blue collar workers,
sweetie, yet crucial convention votes keep falling his way.

I guess God want Obama to be the Democratic nominee.

Even G. W. B. knows BO will replace him as the new WH incumbent on the 21st of January 2009.

I guess God knows it!

And wants it so.

Barack Obama is inevitable and inexorable.

Even failures work to his advantage.

I am sure BO will be a good President for the US.

If he were not to be elected, the warmongers will get us quickly to Armageddon.

and ARPAIO'S first suggestion will be to turn the white house into a tent!

If you have any 'TRUST' in master bull shitter OBAMA then you are a fool!

Steel,
I will say it for you:
Carl,
Take your fucking meds, now please

Not too long to wait.

Wait and see.

As far as my F* meds are concerned I have been taking a 10Mg Cialis every three days and have yet to fail to rise to the expectations of the Lady.

David ...

He is oblivious.
