A few thoughts ...
~ Michelle Obama says that she is 'proud of her country for the first time in her adult life.' This statement has outraged many people. Not me - I expect such as this from such as her, and here's why. First of all, all she has ever heard from her party is just how terrible things are and how she is a victim. And since LBJ's 'Great Society' programs were instituted, affirmative action has let black people, who were not otherwise quailified, reach plateaus of success they would have never achieved otherwise. I have no doubt the Obamas are intelligent people. I also have no doubt that neither displays the accumen required to attend the schools they were graduated from and without those credentials - we would not be the least bit concerned ABOUT them because nobody would've heard OF them. It should be obvious by now to any but the most ardent admirer that Barack Obama is all talk and no substance. Sadly, that's all it is going to take for him to be the nominee, because his supporters are equally callow and lacking in basis.
~ Plagiarism? The Greeks had a saying - 'the least original thought is to think your thoughts are original'. Nothing has changed since then. I find no crime done in Obama using the words and structure of his friend's speech without citation. After all, in this day and age of 'sound bites' and 'quick takes, the economy of one's words is more important than ever. Lincoln was the master of economy, followed by Santayana. We have no one of that stature running and therefore need not expect those who are in the running to behave, act or speak any better than they do. In fact, the use of great words from the past is nothing new and is to be applauded ...IF they are chosen with care. The words chosen by Duvall Patrick/Barack Obama were not. They were chosen to insure their particular audience MIGHT get the allusion. They were chosen with a specific political party in mind - at the expense of omitting equally fine words from the opposition. When it comes to empty rhetoric and hollow speeches given merely to gain support and not move men, these words come to mind ... 'You can fool some of the people all the time, and those are the ones you want to concentrate on'. GWB.
~ Fidel Castro 'resigns.' He's been effectively doing a fine imitation of the title character in 'Weekend at Bernie's' for a decade and nothing is going to change - except this. This announcement and the certain to follow pronouncements by his brother, Raul, that he favors 'more freedoms and wants more free markets' will be just the words the Democrats want to hear. They have been chomping at the bit to restore complete and full relations with Cuba. And while on the face of it, that might seem harmless enough - it is something we should be very concerned about. Whereas Mexico poses a potential threat regarding terrorism with terrorists crossing our essentially unguarded southern border, a fully restored Cuba would be a nest of vipers on our doorstep. Please bear in mind that the Cuban regime has been at the side of every major dictatorship of the last half century and maintains full diplomatic relations wth them even today. Bear in mind that Cuba is a rat's warren of espionage and spies - not unlike the Casablanca of World War II. Were we to begin allowing Cubans free and unfettered access to America, the first 50,000 would be people with bad intent. Under no circumstances should we change our current policy toward Cuba. But this latest from Castro almost guarantees we will.
~ The Clintons are down but not gone. Not by a long shot. Given Bill's famous beligerence and Hillary's stubborness, it's safe to say they will not go quietly and will fight to the death for the nomination. Tonight's victories by Obama will only serve to strengthen their resolve. I have a suspicion she will lose on March 4th, too. Then it becomes an issue decided by the so called superdelegates. Ultimately, Obama will prevail, but it is in the background where this could get real interesting. In order for the Clinton's to get and hold those superdelegates, they will, by necessity, be forced to blackmail and extortion - crimes neither has shown the least bit of hesitation or restraint to commit. In fact, I think one could say, that in the pantheon of criminal administrations and presidents, the Clintons reign supreme. Those superdelegates will either vote for them or suffer the consequences. And since the Clintons were in charge of all the intelligence gathering agencies for eight years, there has to be plenty of dirt at their disposal. Think Larry Craig times a thousand. It would be fun to watch if it wasn't half of our nation's government who are going to be skewered and roasted alive.

Michelle Obama obviously has a "10 acres and a mule" mentality. You would think the life they live and the colleges they attended would change that. Barrak HUSSEIN Obama has been a Harvard law professor, Chicago Alderman and U.S. Senator. Oh, the oppression!
FUCK both of them

My jaw did hit the floor when I heard those words come out of her mouth.

Yep. I heard it and had a few instantaneous uncharitable thoughts come to mind.
She tried to fix it today and couldn't.

I thought she'd be a breath of fresh air but it looks like she is just another mouthy black bitch who's too fucking pig-headed to admit she's wrong.
That will not fly too well in the general election season, unless they keep her muzzled or on Thorazine.
