Drive Across America - $47.00
See the vehicle on the left? That is a top of the line, 1997 Bluebird Coach. It has a 400HP Diesel engine.
The family that owns it, drove it from Seattle WA to Providence RI, for forty seven dollars. It gets just 5 miles to the gallon. Diesel costs over $3.00 a gallon.
No, they are not bank robbers or scammers. They had no commercial supporters, nor did they sell ads on the side of that luxury land yacht. They burned used french fry oil from behind fast food restaurants FOR FREE!
The conversion cost less than three thousand bucks and is completely hands free, with the exception of actually putting a hose into the used grease vat, inorder to suck all that free fuel up.
Sound too good to be true? It's not. Read more on this amazing journey HERE.
The company that makes and installs the equipment is HERE.
It is my life long dream to some day, be able to own such a vehicle. The main obstacle has always been the cost of fuel. This trip across America would have cost several thousand dollars on regular diesel fuel purchased at a gas station, IF there happened to be diesel pumps available. That is not always the case, believe you me. But there is always a few fast food joints in even the smallest of towns and they ALWAYS have used grease. I know this, because I used to clean such places all across the West. This technology is a dream come true.
This is a 1973 GMC RV - it is my dream vehicle.
It has a 6-71 GM Diesel engine and gets about 9 miles to the gallon. Slap a diesel generator, a satellite dish and an awning on it, and I would be in hog heaven. You would still see my blog daily, but I would be somewhere else - always. The 6-71 is unique among diesel engines, because they have been in continuous use since before WWII and parts are as plentiful as VW parts, worldwide. And there's no shortage of mechanics who can work on 'em. No computers, no high tech bullshit, just a very dependable rig. That is my dream. Hey Phoenix, what do you say?

...and the best part about Jimmy two-strokes, is that if you stall them on a hill, they'll run backwards sucking air through the exhaust, and spitting exhaust out the intake. Now that is sweet :-)

Restaurants "giving away" free biodeisel oil won't last long.
You can bet they're going to start charging for it quickly!!! (and it will be ....gasp.... as much or more than gasoline!!!)
