Buddy on Demand

Blow-up man to give female drivers more confidence

Inflatable_man_blow_up_doll LONDON: He fits in a car's glove box, appears at a flick of a switch and when a woman has finished using him, she can just pull the plug and he deflates.

He's the Buddy on Demand, a blow-up man launched this week with the aim of making solo female motorists feel less nervous about driving at night.

According to research by the inflatable friend's creator, Sheilas' Wheels, 82 per cent of women feel safer with someone sitting in the car beside them and nearly half don't like driving alone in the dark.

"We're not saying that an inflatable man is the only answer but we do hope it will give women extra confidence and make journeys in the dark less fearful," said Jacky Brown, the spokeswoman for Sheilas' Wheels.  Link

You will NEVER guess what business Sheilas' Wheels is in.

This is a good idea.

But more fun would be to wait until some creep stops a woman and tries to rip her out of her car....she reaches over and pulls the button. ha ha ha.... MAGIC MAN! Then when he tries to run away, she could run over him.

Wouldn't it be easier just to reach in your purse, pull out a pistol and shoot the bastard in the balls?

I'm just askin' is all.

Not really. A guy looking to do me in needs to look into my eyes for a while before I finish him off. He owes me the fear.

Like the autopilot scene in the cockpit of the first "Airplane"...

Steel has a great point here. Efficiency. Isn't running over an attacker with a car is the same thing as shooting him in the balls? Perhaps the only difference is that in the latter scenario, you pretty much guarantee what the attacker won't do next.

I guess it boils down to personal preference. Personally? Were I in those shoes, I'd put a shot between the attacker's eyes, call 911, and cook popcorn.

Then again, by the time I took the bicyle lock off my semi-automatic and pushed some bullets in the magazine, the attacker would have pushed a load into both of my daughters...

Cheers,

You don't understand.

Some man looking to kill me, maim me, rape me.... I want him alive for a while. I want him to know he made a bad mistake.

Efficiency? He'll see that in my eyes. And he will beg.

Car, gun.... it doesn't matter. He will know my rage before he dies.

[He will know my rage before he dies.]

I guess we're on the same page there...

Cheers,

The mistake is thinking that someone who would pull bullshit like trying to jump into your car, or rape you, would CARE about your rage.

Run the asshole over, or blow him away. The only hope is you can get him before he gets you or someone else.

Again, that's not the point.

It is I who deserves to see the fear in HIS eyes.

Otherwise, I may never quell that rage. I do not deserve to live with that.

Trust me, I would make him care.
