The Abortion Mafia

                    Wraps off Indian abortion 'mafia'

Abortion1 Pregnant Indian women in the UK who want to get rid of unwanted female foetuses are being referred by unscrupulous British general practitioners to a "mafia" of doctors in Delhi, Mumbai, Calcutta and Chennai, it was alleged this week.

The scandal was blown wide apart this morning by Dr Puneet Bedi, a consultant in obstetrics and gynaecology at Indraprastha Apollo Hospital in New Delhi, who alleged that getting an abortion done in India was as easy as "buying a car or a VCR".

As the law stands, "abortion is legal in the UK up to the 24th week of pregnancy", said a spokeswoman for the General Medical Council, the organisation which supervises medical ethics in Britain.

"A scan will show up the sex of the foetus only after six months or so, by which time it will be too late to have abortion on demand."

London - Pregnant Indian women in the UK who want to get rid of unwanted female foetuses are being referred by unscrupulous British general practitioners to a "mafia" of doctors in Delhi, Mumbai, Calcutta and Chennai, it was alleged this week.

"However, if there is a substantial risk to the woman's life or if there are foetal abnormalities, there is no time limit," she said. "To comply with the 1967 Abortion Act, two doctors must give their consent, stating that to continue with the pregnancy would present a risk to the physical or mental health of the woman or her existing children. However, the act does not extend to Northern Ireland, where abortion is still illegal."

The spokeswoman went on: "A scan will show up the sex of the foetus only after six months or so, by which time it will be too late to have abortion on demand."

For some months now, stories have been appearing in British newspapers of Indian women making their way to India for abortions, for which they are more than happy to pay a premium. For the doctors in India who perform these operations, it is a nice little earner on the side.

Speaking on BBC Radio Five's Live Breakfast, Bedi said: "I know for sure, I have often been approached by people who are willing to send someone to my practice. There are transfers from GPs in England to the gynaecologists in Delhi - that is a fact. It is an organised industry, an organised mafia among doctors."

Asked if it was a common practice, he said: "Yes, actually, and, if anything, it is on the rise because basic economics dictate and there's a lot of money for the doctors to be made. I am not sure how many people will say it on the television or radio but we all know it happens all the time. Most of the gynaecologists in south Delhi, at least, are directly involved in the process."

Bedi revealed that the average cost for woman in India to have an abortion was around £100, whereas British Asian women could pay several thousand pounds.

"I do not know of any doctor who does not have half a dozen colleagues or medical school friends in England already practising - sometimes in areas where there is a large Indian population," he said. "In this business there is a core of silence like every other organised white collar crime."

Supporting evidence was given by Dr Himansu Basu, a consultant gynaecologist who runs a private practice in Gravesend, Kent, who said: "Abortion based on the sex of the child is banned in the UK, it is also illegal in India. But there are areas of private practice where people can go."

He added it was difficult to estimate the numbers of female abortions that take place each year because data was never published. But, anecdotally, he estimated that "it has been going on for years".

He went on: "Overall, the global impact must be absolutely horrendous, it is a biological disturbance."

Julia Millington, from the Pro-Life Alliance, said she was horrified by the system: "It is illegal in the UK and illegal in India to abort a baby simply because it is the wrong sex. Anyone who actively participates in such a referral is culpable themselves of an illegal act and must be prosecuted."

"They are contributing not only to the death of innocent unborn babies, but also actively furthering appalling discrimination against women."

A spokesman for the British Medical Association commented: "I am not sure of the legality but we would certainly strongly oppose this practice."   Link

Disgusting. Who cares what the feminists say.

China and India - the two most populated countries on the planet are all 'for' abortion. No matter what they say to the public, it will never stop.

That their cultures value boy babies is the most disgusting part of this because it forces women into a position they cannot control. The one-baby deal in China has skewed the male/female ratio so badly that men are importing brides from Indonesia. When the statement is made that this practice has grave biological concerns, they aren't whistling Dixie. For now, China is in the process of changing its indigenous population because only men are 'worthy'.

The origins of that cultural worship of males comes from the Chinese belief that the son will always take care of the parents. How's that? Can't be giving birth to any females because they won't be able to take care of us when we get old. Nice.

India would do well to ban all birth for two years. And then again two years later.

Ahhh....ain't culture nice. The birthplace of moral relativism writ large. Not that there's anything wrong with that...... who's to say one culture is better'n another.

The kidnapping of young women is common in rural areas of China.

It is predicted that there will be 20 males for every female in China in two decades.

All subjective judgements aside, can this bode well for genetics as a whole?

Sounds like a recipe for hereditary disaster to me.

What does it have to do with genetics? Races have mixed since the beginning of time. So what? Seems to me, genetics is genetics and its sole purpose is to continue on its lineage. ha ha ha.... what a line!

oh. HA. HA.

Hereditary disaster? What's that? Sounds like a racist remark some WASP might make to keep the blood blue. I know you're not a racist by any stretch of the imagination, but hereditary 'anything' is almost an anachronism these days.

If hereditary lineage were meant to be 'pure' we'd not be *able* to mix. Kind of like dogs and cats, or more relative - donkeys and horses.

(Sorry...can't quit the puns....)

I think heredity requires a fairly even balance of BOTH sexes.

If close to 2 billion people become mostly male, that might have grave consequences in the gene pool.

That's not heredity. Heredity is all about passing on genes that you want passed on. Cultural practices have mucked that up in China, for sure, because their race will not be 'pure', so to speak, in a few generations. Do they care? Who knows? Whoever is imported to marry a Chinese male will no doubt become as cultural blind as the rest as they assimilate into their new heritage.

India is pitiful with its caste system. Jesus, that is one screwed-up system. That is based on heredity, class-determined by birth. No way out.

But it's all cultural. Culture is what *makes* heredity a thing of concern. Check it out - we have it right here at home.

Hmmm ...

I am talking about the actual 'genetic' damage potential.

If the vast majority of one third of the world's population is male and another third loathes the birth of females and a large portion of yet another segment relegates females to chattel, then we have a problem.

Procreation demands the transfer of genetic material in such a way that it insures survival of species.

Puns?

If we start 'monkeying' around with the biological imperatives we are not long for this world.

Right turn Clyde.

Right turn, Clyde is right. You dufus. hahahahahahahaha.

Wowsa. You actually had me thinking there for a second until my neurons went on strike with a screeching halt and BS signs flashing behind my cerebral cortex.

Biological imperatives. Ooooooooooookay... you love this. You're mixing it in with CULTURAL imperatives again, and it ain't gonna work.

Start over, Clyde. hahahahahahahahaha

WHAT?

Do you think I post this stuff because I'm tryin' to change the world?

'Into every serious discourse, a little humor must fall'.

Yeah. And it's usually ME who injects the inanity. Not you. hahahaha.....

Would you please get the 'imperative' gradoo out of your system. Here.. I'll ask you a question:

What has more power: Culture or human nature?

Heh.

Culture will always win in a crowd.

'Human nature' will keep you alive when you are alone.

The culture 'creates' the morality. Here's what Nietzsche said about morality:

"Morality is herd instinct in the individual."

He was pretty grim, but man, was he smart.

Culture has more power. It has to. We cannot trust the individual to do the right thing. Human nature/the individual is fallible and easily given over to base instincts. Culture keeps that from happening 'all' the time. And for sure, I am NOT saying ALL individuals cannot govern themselves. The opposite is true.

What is cool is when individuals realize they must change the culture. War.

Too bad the radical Muslims cannot see the benefits of changing their culture.

Why will human nature keep you alive when you are alone?

Are you making right turns? Where be you?

Human nature will keep you alive when you are alone if you have the will to live.

Is that what you were aiming at? Human nature is a plethora of things. How are you defining it?

By right turns? ha hahahaahahahahahahah

I am in high dudgeon here in my atelier waiting for you knowing your propinquity in time, thought, and space is so close. If you wish to keep my fealty at your beck and call, you'd best get back to changing the world because I've already had one meltdown tonight and am finding the same milieu of world-wide unfixable horseshit getting to me again..........................Come.....titivate me with some salutary apthegms that have nothing to do with A N Y T H I N G ... d'oh.

Well dang honey, we can't do that here.

Why do men, when at a loss for good conversation, a lawn to mow, a game to watch, a hinge to desqueak resort to sex when asked sweetly, "Let's do something?"

Is that a cultural thing? Do Chinese guys resort to sex when faced with interacting with their sweeties about nothing? Indian guys? Albanian guys? Is it culturally guy thing to adjust the old cojones and grin stupidly when at a loss for..... well, changing the world?

I can't speak for anyone else.

Personally, if you said 'let's do something' I would make sure your were fed well, well rested and were 'staying over'.

THEN I might have something in mind.

Really? What about the counter encounter?

Would one of those mess up the order of your plans?

Ha. Ha. Ha. :)

'Counter encounter'?

You just stopped me dead in my tracks.

I can only counter with ...

I love you.

Wimpy huh?

:}

I guess it's time to say good night. On my side of this bullshit-overdosed world it is quite late.

Sleep well, my dear. I'll be feisty tomorrow. :}

I would never use the word 'wimpy' to describe you.
