IMPETIGO
Staph Infections Hospitalizing 100s in Tucson
My friend Obi Wan, has a story about a staphylococcus epidemic in Tucson AZ. You should read it, What you see at the right is the beginnings of such an infection. It is called impetigo.
When I was a kid in junior high school, I was on the wrestling team. Somehow, all the wrestling mats became infected with staph and of course, all the wrestlers got it too.
Some guys were left disfigured, many had to stay out of school for weeks. Me? It affected my brain.

So, you were a grappler too? I competed (poorly) at 138. I'm not surprised about the mat's getting 'soiled'. With all that blood, mucus and other assorted bodily fluids flying. Damn things NEVER get cleaned either.

Thanks, Mark. I never could stomach watching wrestling for exactly the reason you state above. eeesh.
Staph is one of the worst little noogies out there. You never want to stay in a hospital. Hospitals are rife with nasty cooties. I went in once for a two-day stay. Twenty-four days later I got out. Twenty of those days I had an NG tube. "Mystery" illness that had nothing to do with why I went in in the first place.
